Ladies Club championship at Mt Lawley

The ladies championship involved 36 holes of stroke play qualifying round and 36 holes of match play. A tough assignment! I played in the qualifying rounds but was barred from the matchplay by virtue of being a blow in!

Watching with Mel and JO O'Hern, parents of australian professional golfer Nick O'Hern. They are members of 'my' club!

Angie nd Mardie chip to the 36th hole
The match was all square after 36. It took two more holes to settle the encounter. Angie, the reigning champion won it on the 38th when Mardie chipped into a bunker. Life's like that ...

Golf at Araluen

Ann came with us for a walk around the beautiful Araluen Golf Club last Tuesday ...as usual for a Tuesday, it was a rainy day but that did not deter us. (That was the only rainy day for the month of August here!
One feels like Gulliver that time he met the giants!
 Natural hazards abound.
 Birdies come very close.

Its a beautiful course in the hills. Very long to walk so we took a buggy.

The second tee. Note the smoke in the bush. We wondered if this was a forest fire but it turned out to be the greenkeepers burning rubbish! Whew!
