Meeting up in Liverpool
Cork Symphony Orchestra went to Liverpool for the weekend. We played in The Philharmonic Hall on Saturday night. We played the Thievish Magpie Overture (Mozart) Violin Concerto in D (Mozart, soloist Keith Pascoe, our conductor), a new work -world premiere- The Song of Caer by David Wallace, the Hochthief Composer in Residence to the Cork School of Music, The Serenade to Music by Vaughan Williams with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir and the Piano Concerto No 1 by Tchaikowsky with Ciara Moroney, Cork as soloist. It was a great concert. Magz and Hugh played too. And the good news is that the RLPChoir have accepted our invitation to come to Cork, along with the Harlow Chorus, to open the Cork Choral Festivel in May 2009. We will perform the huge Sea Symphony by Vaughan Williams.
