Magz and Hugh joined us for a game of golf on Jan 2nd. Again, it was a beautiful day. We were very fortiunate with the weather for both weeks Really warm and relaxing.

  I thought the colours on the sea at sunset were stunning. Truly silver sea!

  But, by mid-day, the sun had won the battle and all was well as we lunched outdoors in the hotel grounds.

New Year´s Eve Gala Dinner

Magz and Hugh joined us on NYE in time for the annual gala dinner - 9 courses with entertainment all night. Mayhem and merriment broke out at mid-night!

  There are two pirate ships in Hammamet. You can take a ride out ot sea on them. Sometimes they lie at anchor in the bay.
  This is the view from outside our room. Lively on a windy day ... but still bright and sunny.
 

Persian Rugs

Carpet making is a huge area of industry in Tunisia. The carpets, all sizes, shapes and colours, are made by women in their own homes and are beautiful - lasting a lifetime. We purchased two - one for Charlie and Jane, and the other for ourselves. They are both 'in the post'. Hopefully they will arrive before too long.
  This is for Charlie and Jane.
  Neatly packed and on its way to Oz.
  This one is on its way to Cork. These rugs are made of lambswool. There are others made of very fine silk which are amazing .... and VERY expensive.

Gala Christmas Eve Dinner

 We had a lovely mutli-course meal - which included turkey.
