Sunset for a new beginning

The beautiful beach in Mullaloo at sunset gives a nice close to the Maple Leaf Rag. I have decided to begin a new blog for the Oz years. Join it on http://patandgeorgeinoz.blogspot.com/

Thursday golf

This little chap, a bob-tailed lizard, wandered across a fairway today. We also encountered a wandering swarm of bees! Very eventful game. I achieved 36 points and did NOT get myself disqualified!

... I can explain this! The trolley has a distance control. I set it off for 30 metres towards the next tee. It encountered a slope and ended up lodged in a bunker. We thought it was very funny!

Mt Lawley is a very pretty course - beautiful shrubs and trees, all very well tended.

New drivers in Oz

We got our drivers' licences today. We didnt have to do a test but the Oz govt did have to check out our Irish licenses because of recurring cases of fraud with Irish licences!

wildlife in Inglewood

Jane painted Finn and Oliver's faces at a bbq in Ann and Denis's nearly finished extension in Inglewood. It was Saturday afternoon and the temp dropped to a 'freezing' 16 deg!

Tuesday golf, WA style

Its nicer to play golf when the sun is shining! Hats, long sleeves and umbrellas are the order of the day - to protect against the very strong sun. The tee shirt is factor 30 protective in itself. Temp was up to 24 in the afternoon. Golf starts very early in the morning - from 6.30! Need to get back to the clubhouse before the intense summer heat over the coming months. We've been warned!
Oh! I got disqualified again ... this time for having 15 clubs in the bag!

Western Night in Charlie's cinema

To celebrate Jane and Charlie's return to known civilisation, they hosted a cinema night. We watched Rooster cogburn with John Wayne and Katherine Hepburn. Opinion was divided as to whether it was a comedy, romance or western!

Back from Adelaide

Finn helps with the luggage. Charlie said that the world's tectonic plates are moving faster than life in Adelaide! Seemingly its even more laid back than WA! (We've learnt that WA = wait awhile!)
