Retired folks games ... getting advice!

March 3, 2008
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.
Well for example the other day my wife and I went to Victoria Park and went to a shop. We were only there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a traffic inspector writing out a parking ticket.
We went up to him and said "come on man how about giving a senior citizen a break?" He ignored us and continued to write the ticket.
I called him a whippet. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tyres.

So my wife called him a kid. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windscreen Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him the more tickets he wrote

Personally we didn't care We came into town by bus.

We try to have a little fun each day now that were are retired. It's important at our age.

Guess who flew into Perth to get into Charlie's blog?

Yes, it's Condi, world superwoman no.1. She visited Charlie's and Jane's school and had coffee in one of our coffee shops in Mt Lawley.

We've been having great fun in Oz this past week. Skip down a bit and start at the end for the updated story.....The weather has been mixed. Some very rainy days - one day we had a storm that knocked down trees, with thunder and lightning and all the effects ... Some days are brilliantly sunny - up to 25 degrees on Saturday.

Hole in One on Christmas Day, July 26th!

George played golf in Mt Lawley on Saturday afternoon and scored a hole-in-one on the par 3 6th. He was feted by the committe and players and presented with a hole-in-one trophy, a hole-in-one tie and a bottle of whiskey. He had to make a speech at the presentation. Luckily for him, the club have insurance against such an event and paid for the customary round of drinks for all present!
When he came over to Ann and Denis' house for dinner he was surprised to discover that it was Christmas Day!
The hero in his Mt Lawley club colours. Sorry Monkstown!
