Bob Coughlan

The gentleman standing with a violin seconds from the left at the back of this photo is Bob Coughlan, probably Benigna's grandfather? William Brady, in front, went on to become a teacher in Cork School of Music and taught Granny Ina to play the violin. He was known as 'Professor Brady' - all teachers being called 'professor' at that time.

Blackpool, 1921

The gentleman standing second from the right in this photo from 1921 in Blackpool is called 'J. Murphy'. Could he be Jeremiah Murphy, my great grand-father?

Modern lights

Behind these Partick Street shop fronts is vacant. I never can get to like these modern light standards!

Cork is changing ...

This is the scene at present in Emmet Place and Academy Street.Basically, Patrick Street is just a facade now from Dunnes to Barters. All behind has been bulldozed away. I think a huge shopping centre is being built instead.

Proud Mom on the Lough.

I took a stroll around the Lough one afternoon. This swan was very proud of her brood.

Tasmin Little with CSO

The EXCITING news is that Tasmin Little is the guest soloist for the Christmas concert with Cork Symphony Orchestra! She will perform the Tchaikowsky Violin Concerto. Her own website is very interesting.
